Terms of Use

1. Eligibility and account

1.1 You must be 18 years or older and able to form a binding contract.

1.2 You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.

1.3 One account per person, for your own use. Keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

1.4 We may refuse, suspend, or reclaim accounts to protect the Services or comply with law, as set out in Section 12.

2. The Services

PurpleHunt is a career intelligence platform. You record your career in a private log; the Services use that record — when you ask them to — to generate resumes, cover letters, match and fit analyses, interview preparation, coaching, and related material, and to help you track jobs and applications. We continuously develop the Services; features may be added, changed, or removed. Where a change materially reduces functionality you have paid credits for, Section 5.6 applies.

3. Your content

3.1 Ownership.Everything you record or upload — your career log, documents, answers, notes (“Your Content”) — is and remains yours. Content the Services generate for you from Your Content (“Generated Content”) is yours to use once delivered to you.

3.2 License to us. You grant PurpleHunt a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to provide and secure the Services for you, including processing by the AI sub-processors named in the Privacy Policy. This license ends when the content is deleted, subject to the backup tail described in the Privacy Policy.

3.3 We do not use Your Content to train AI models, sell it, or share it with employers or anyone else except as the Privacy Policy states.

3.4 Your record is yours to state.PurpleHunt does not judge, police, or verify the truth of what you record about your own life. Grounding checks in the Services apply to the AI’s output — whether a generated line is supported by your record — never to you.

3.5 Your responsibilities.You must have the right to upload what you upload. Do not put into the Services: other people’s confidential or proprietary information (for example, an employer’s confidential documents), content that infringes others’ rights, or malicious code. You are solely responsible for Your Content and for how you use Generated Content.

3.6 Public profile. Publishing a shareable profile makes the selected content public until you unpublish it. Only publish what you are comfortable making public.

4. AI-generated content — important terms

4.1 Generated Content is produced by AI from Your Content and your instructions. AI makes mistakes. The Services trace generated claims to your entries and flag lines they cannot trace, but no output is guaranteed accurate, complete, or suitable.

4.2 You must review Generated Content before relying on it or sending it to anyone. A resume you submit is your resume; an answer you give is your answer.

4.3 Scores, match percentages, and analyses are estimates to help you prioritize. They are not predictions or guarantees of interviews, offers, employment, or any outcome, and PurpleHunt is not a recruitment agency, employer, or career counselor.

4.4 The Services are not legal, financial, immigration, or professional advice. Decisions about your career are yours.

5. Credits, payments, and refunds

5.1 Some features consume credits. Credit prices, bundle sizes, and per-feature costs are shown in the Services at the time of purchase and use.

5.2 Payment is processed by Razorpay, our payment processor; by purchasing you agree to their terms. We do not store full card numbers.

5.3 Credits are a limited license to use paid features. They are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be redeemed for money.

5.4 Refunds. Purchases are final except: (a) where a technical failure on our side consumed credits without delivering the feature — we restore those credits; (b) duplicate charges — refunded; (c) where applicable law grants you a non-waivable refund right. Refund requests: [email protected] within 30 days of the charge.

5.5 Price changes apply prospectively with at least 15 days’ notice in-app or by email, and never change what already-purchased credits can do at the moment of the change.

5.6 If we discontinue a paid feature entirely, unused credits attributable to it are refunded pro rata or exchanged, at your choice.

5.7 Unused credits expire only if your account is deleted or terminated for violation, or after 24 months of complete account inactivity following email or in-app notice.

5.8 Taxes: prices include GST where applicable; you are responsible for other taxes required in your jurisdiction.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity to us or in your account (what you state about your own career in your own record is yours — Section 3.4);
• access another person’s account or data, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services without written permission;
• scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or systematically extract data from the Services, or use robots or automated means to access them except public interfaces we document;
• attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or misappropriate our prompts, models, evaluation systems, or software;
• interfere with the Services’ operation, including overloading, flooding, or circumventing rate limits or credit accounting;
• use the Services to create a competing dataset or service, or resell, sublicense, or white-label them without a written agreement;
• upload malicious code, or use the Services to generate or distribute spam, malware, or unlawful content;
• use the Services to harass, defame, or violate the rights of any person, or for any purpose that violates applicable law;
• misuse the public profile feature to publish content that is unlawful, infringing, or impersonates another person.

We may investigate violations and take action under Section 12.

7. Our intellectual property

The Services — including software, design, prompts, models’ orchestration, trademarks, and all content we created — are owned by PurpleHunt or our licensors and protected by law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services as intended. No other rights are granted. “PurpleHunt” and our logos may not be used without written permission.

8. Third-party content and services

Job listings shown in the Services originate from third parties; we do not control and are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, or the hiring practices of any employer. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them. Payment processing and AI generation are provided through third-party providers identified in the Privacy Policy.

9. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation. This never includes Your Content, which stays governed by Section 3.

10. Copyright and content complaints

If you believe content on a public PurpleHunt profile infringes your copyright or other rights, or is unlawful, write to [email protected](subject “Content complaint”) with: the content’s URL, the right claimed, your contact details, and a good-faith statement. We review complaints within 7 days, remove or disable content where appropriate, and may notify the account holder. This mechanism also serves as our grievance channel under India’s IT Rules, 2021.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY OF GENERATED CONTENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT ANY EMPLOYMENT OUTCOME. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; where law grants you rights that cannot be excluded, those rights prevail.

12. Suspension and termination

12.1 By you:delete your account at any time in settings or by writing to us; deletion follows the Privacy Policy’s retention terms.

12.2 By us: we may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or where required by law. Except where immediate action is necessary, we will give notice and an opportunity to cure. Termination for breach forfeits remaining credits; termination by us without breach refunds unused credits.

12.3 Sections 3 (ownership), 4, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, and 15 survive termination.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (a) NEITHER PARTY IS LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY; AND (b) PURPLEHUNT’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (ii) ₹5,000. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW, INCLUDING FOR FRAUD OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT.

14. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold PurpleHunt harmless from third-party claims arising out of Your Content, your public profile, your use of Generated Content after delivery to you, or your breach of these Terms — except to the extent the claim results from our own breach or misconduct.

15. Governing law and disputes

15.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

15.2 Talk first. Before formal proceedings, either party will write to the other describing the dispute, and both will attempt in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.

15.3 Unresolved disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. If you are a consumer with mandatory local forum rights under your own law, nothing here deprives you of them.

16. General

• Changes to these Terms: we will post updates with a new effective date and give at least 15 days’ notice of material changes by email or in-app. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance; if you object, stop using the Services and delete your account (Section 5.6 applies to affected credits).
• Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us regarding the Services.
• Severability: if a provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect and the provision is enforced to the maximum extent permitted.
• No waiver: failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
• Assignment: you may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
• Force majeure: neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
• Notices: to you — the email on your account or in-app notice; to us — [email protected].
